JOB- CAD Technician

LOCATION- Glasgow   

TERM- Permanent

SALARY- £30,000 - £40,000 per annum, dependent on experience

My client specialises in bespoke design and fabrication for the Construction industry, and they are looking to take on a CAD Technician on a permanent basis in the Glasgow area.

The CAD Technician will ideally have the following attributes:

2+ years’ experience in a similar CAD Operation / Design Engineering / Mechanical Engineering position
Be proficient using 3D CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit etc.
Any previous experience of working with bespoke metalwork, structural steel, Cladding or similar would be beneficial
Experience using BIM360, Viewpoint or similar software would be beneficial
Degree / HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar would be beneficial
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
Proficient using MS Office
Excellent organisational skills and time management skills
Have the ability to work well alone as well as part of a small multi-disciplinary team
 
The CAD Technician role will involve:

Working within the current engineering team with other CAD Technicians
Producing 3D designs using AutoCAD software
Liaising with manufacturing providers and Assembly teams
Being involved in final assembly of products
Creating the required documentation for design as well as project reports / plans
Updating 3D models and drawings
Inputting parts into the MRP system creating BOMs
Checking drawings for sign off
Working in a small multi-disciplinary team on varied projects
