We are currently on the look-out for experienced Project Engineers' to join our clients’ dynamic projects team. This business provides comprehensive services including refurbishment, maintenance, overhaul, engineering support, project management, and repair services across multiple sites and mobile operations throughout the UK.

This role is ideal for engineers with a background in engineering design, electrical engineering, and/or technical project management. The successful candidate will lead engineering projects from concept through to delivery, ensuring an efficient and cost-effective project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

* Develop and manage detailed project plans that align engineering specifications with production timelines.

* Structure and schedule projects, ensuring collaboration and communication among all key stakeholders.

* Monitor project progression, acting as a vital link between client, engineering, and production teams to meet deadlines and key milestones.

* Create and manage Bills of Materials (BoMs) and work with procurement teams to ensure timely ordering of materials.

* Provide day-to-day engineering support, including interpreting technical drawings/specifications and ensuring high-quality project execution.

* Prepare and sign off project documentation and ensure work is delivered by qualified and competent personnel.

* Assist in developing and standardising project management procedures across the business.

* Ensure compliance with all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations and standards.

Key Skills and Experience

* Proven experience as a project engineer within a fast-paced, engineering-focused environment.

* Degree in electrical, mechanical, or manufacturing & design (to be able to sign off on engineering changes)

* Relevant project management qualifications (e.g., PRINCE2, APM) are highly desirable.

* Strong understanding of engineering drawings with the ability to draft technical documentation and work instructions.

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of briefing both internal teams and clients.

* Strong problem-solving ability, capable of identifying issues and working collaboratively to find solutions.

* Commercial awareness with the ability to understand project budgets and identify cost efficiencies.

* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Project and PowerPoint and knowledge of CAD is a plus.

* Background in high-hazard, rail or transportation industries preferred.

* Ability to manage conflicting priorities and communicate effectively across multi-disciplinary teams.
