Job Title: EC&I Technician
Location: Runcorn
Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
Salary: £47,239 per annum + annual bonus scheme
About the Role
H9 Talent Solutions are recruiting for an Electrical Control & Instrumentation (EC&I) Technician to join a dynamic and experienced team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for the maintenance and repair of all EC&I equipment at a modern Energy Recovery Facility (ERF), while also offering technical support across disciplines. You will play a key part in ensuring the facility operates efficiently, safely, and in compliance with all environmental regulations. Your work will directly contribute to plant reliability, safety, and cost efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Perform fault diagnostics and corrective/reactive maintenance on EC&I systems and equipment.
Deliver improvement projects that enhance plant reliability and reduce operational costs.
Ensure maintenance plans and targets are met safely and economically.
Support and liaise with other engineering disciplines and contractors as required.
Promote and maintain a strong safety culture, ensuring safe systems of work are in place.
Participate in an on-call rota to provide coverage for breakdowns during normal hours and out-of-hours (including weekends, nights, and bank holidays).
What We're Looking For
Proven experience in EC&I engineering within a process or manufacturing environment.
Relevant engineering qualifications (e.g., City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3, HNC or equivalent).
Competency in using Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
Familiarity with DCS/SCADA systems.
Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental standards and regulations.
Ability to interpret instrument loop drawings and P&IDs.
Clear and effective communication skills across all levels.
Logical problem-solving skills with a proactive and analytical approach.
A formal electrical qualification that supports multi-skilled status is desirable.
18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations certification would be beneficial.
