Our client, a leading consultancy in the rail sector, is currently seeking a Senior Rail Estimator to join their team in Manchester, Birmingham, or London. This is a permanent position with hybrid working options available.

Key Responsibilities:

Leading our rail estimating function and playing a pivotal role in our client-facing commercial team
Delivering cost estimates and leading the development of our rail estimating team
Engaging in cost planning, procurement, and cost assurance for projects of varying complexity
Collaborating with internal and external clients, contributing to a variety of commercial and project management activities
Embracing innovation and shaping our estimating function to utilise emerging digital technology effectively
Developing and enhancing the estimating function to support our global service offering

Job Requirements:

Experience in rail estimating and knowledge of measurement methods such as RMM1, MMHW, and CESMM4
Relevant educational background
Strong technical writing, client-facing, and communication skills
Experience with estimating software such as CostX and CANDY
Ability to perform bottom-up estimating from first principles
Passion for making a difference and being part of a growing team
Drive, vision, and technology skills to lead the development of a digital service offering
Experience with NEC Contracts and other industry-standard or bespoke forms of contract
Effective collaboration skills with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
Experience in a rail systems/engineering estimating or commercial management role within a consultant, contractor, or client organisation
Demonstrable estimating, cost, and commercial management experience in the rail sector or on civil engineering and highways projects
