Fabricator / Welder

Working hours: 46 hours per week - Mixed Day/Night shifts (Set shifts may be considered)

Nights - 18.30-6.30 ( MON TO THURS )

Days - 7.00-17.30 (MON TO THURS) / 7.00-13.00 (FRI)

Salary: £33k with an extra 3k on top for shift allowance.

As a welder fabricator, you will be responsible for joining different metals using a variety of techniques. Duties may include cutting and welding materials according to technical drawings, occasional  tests may be required depending on client requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities

Various aspects of welding & fabrication
Interpret engineering drawings for parts to be fabricated/welded
General mechanical skills
Ensure production timings are met
Create specific weldment set- ups and fixturing to meet geometric requirements
Perform quality work checks to ensure the product meets quality standards
Identify product defects and complete appropriate documentation when defects are identified
Rework and/or repair welded parts and products according to engineering specification changes.
Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures
Prioritize work flow through effective communication with management staff
Maintain a clean and safe work area

Education & Training

Apprentice trained or time served fabricator/welder with proven experience (Preferred)
Basic computer navigation and utilization skills (preferred)
Specific technical or vocational training or certification (preferred)
Knowledge & Experience 

Ability to weld manually using both GMAW & GTAW processes
Robotic welding (advantageous)
Experience in the use of overhead crane would be an advantage
Knowledge and experience in exotic materials such as: duplex and austenitic steels but not limited to

Able to work from engineering drawings and work under minimal supervision to reasonable timescales
