Technical Assessor – Insulation
Salary: up to £40,000 including car allowance
Hours: Monday–Friday, 37.5 hrs
Contract: Permanent, Full‑Time
Base: Field‑based with home working when not on inspections
About the Role
We’re looking for a technically confident, detail‑driven Technical Assessor with hands‑on experience in insulation installation — ideally from the ECO / PAS2030 sector or new‑build environments. This role is perfect for someone who has installed or supervised the installation of BBA‑certified insulation systems and is now ready to step into a quality‑focused, assessment‑based position.
You’ll carry out inspections, review technical documentation, and ensure that insulation systems and installation processes meet required standards. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys technical accuracy, field work, and supporting continuous improvement across the industry.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct technical assessments of insulation systems, installation processes, and related products.
* Review technical documentation, drawings, and specifications to support assessment work.
* Carry out on‑site inspections, tests, and evidence gathering, producing accurate and structured reports.
* Identify non‑conformities and work with installers, supervisors, and internal teams to resolve issues.
* Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of relevant standards (e.g., PAS2030, ECO requirements, BBA certification criteria).
* Support the development and refinement of assessment procedures.
Essential Experience & Skills
* Direct experience installing insulation systems (loft, cavity, internal/external wall, or similar).
* Background in ECO / PAS2030 installation organisations, new‑build insulation contractors, or insulation manufacturers/suppliers.
* Strong understanding of installation quality, compliance, and site‑based technical processes.
* Excellent attention to detail and the ability to interpret technical documentation.
* Confident communicator able to work independently and manage multiple assessments.
* Competent with MS Office and comfortable using inspection tools/equipment.
* Willingness to undertake training on assessment protocols.
