Vac Caster / Finisher

Location: Gloucester
Hours: 07:00–15:00 Monday to Friday (37.5 hours per week)
Salary: Competitive hourly rate - temp to perm contract.

Key Responsibilities of a Vac Caster / Finisher:

* Vacuum casting plastic models of varying sizes and complexity using silicone moulds

* Finishing components by hand and with small machine tools

* Inspecting parts to ensure quality standards are met

* Understanding the behaviour of silicone tools and adjusting processes for optimal performance

* Working proactively with downstream departments

Key Skills of a Vac Caster / Finisher:

* Excellent attention to detail

* Logical decision-making skills

* Strong hand-to-eye coordination and dexterity

* Physically fit and confident in a workshop environment

* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings

* Competent using measuring equipment such as Verniers

* Good communication skills, a strong team player, flexible and able to work under pressure

* Reliable with excellent timekeeping

Desirable Skills:

* Vacuum casting or finishing experience, or similar transferable skills

* Recognised engineering or mechanical apprenticeship

* Problem-solving attitude

* Computer literacy

* Previous experience in modelmaking, fettling, or a craft/artistic background
