School Caretaker

? Location: Alfreton, Derby
? Hours: Monday to Friday, 2:30pm - 6:30pm
? Pay: £13.50 per hour

Blue Arrow Derby are looking for a reliable, enthusiastic and hands-on Caretaker to join a fantastic school in Derby! If you're someone who takes pride in keeping things running smoothly, loves variety and is ready to get stuck in, we want to hear from you!

? What you'll be doing:

?️ General site maintenance, minor repairs and basic DIY

? Opening and locking the site daily

? Cleaning classrooms, dining areas, changing rooms and hallways to a high standard

? Litter picking and keeping outdoor areas tidy (grassed and artificial)

? Setting up and putting away furniture for lessons and events

? Recording deliveries and maintaining stock levels of supplies

? Fire warden duties including evacuating vulnerable individuals when needed

?️ Supporting lunchtime service and helping to clean up afterwards

?‍♂️ Assisting external contractors and managing maintenance works

? Carrying out compliance checks and logging findings

✅ What we're looking for:

Previous caretaker, janitor, handyperson or site supervisor experience is helpful (but not essential)
Enhanced Child DBS dated within the last 12 months (or willingness to obtain - we can help!)
Able to lift and carry furniture and equipment
Confident communicator with a can-do attitude
Able to work independently and manage your time effectively
Familiar with cleaning products, equipment and safe practices
