We are seeking a skilled Handyperson to provide a variety of building services maintenance tasks within a government office environment. This is a steady, single-site role offering stability and the opportunity to work independently while ensuring the smooth operation of essential building services.
Job Description
The successful candidate will carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive repairs, and proactive works across plumbing, carpentry, and fabric-related tasks. You will also manage contractor control duties, including issuing Permits to Work and monitoring workmanship, while adhering to strict Health & Safety standards.
This role is ideal for someone with strong practical skills and experience in building maintenance who enjoys working autonomously in a professional setting.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver a range of building services maintenance tasks, including plumbing, carpentry, and fabric repairs.
* Manage PPM schedules and reactive works within agreed timeframes to exceed customer expectations.
* Respond to callouts as per the client’s rota and ensure timely resolution of issues.
* Carry out contractor control duties, including monitoring quality and issuing Permits to Work.
* Ensure compliance with Health & Safety procedures, risk assessments, and method statements.
* Maintain accurate records and close jobs using PDA systems.
Professional and Personal Competencies
* Proven experience in plumbing, carpentry, and fabric-related building maintenance (fault finding, installation, and repairs).
* Background in reactive and planned maintenance within FM or commercial property environments preferred..
* Basic IT skills for job management via PDA and systems
