We are seeking dedicated and experienced SEN Learning Support Assistants to join a secondary special needs school in Lewisham from September 2025.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a well-established SEN school that supports pupils with a variety of complex needs including ASD, PMLD, and SEMH. The school provides a safe, nurturing, and structured environment with excellent staff-to-student ratios and a strong focus on inclusion and personal development.

Responsibilities:

Work closely with teachers and therapists to support students with special educational needs

Provide 1:1 and small group support, tailored to individual education and care plans

Assist with personal care routines where required

Promote student independence, social interaction, and emotional well-being

Maintain accurate records and help with daily classroom organisation

Support in managing challenging behaviours in a positive and consistent way

Candidate Requirements:

Experience working with children or young people with SEN (ASD, PMLD, SEMH, or similar)

Calm, patient, and adaptable approach to supporting students with additional needs

Able to work well as part of a multidisciplinary team

Comfortable providing personal care when necessary

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one

Level 2 or higher qualification in Education or Childcare is desirable but not essential

Pay Rate: Competitive - based on experience
