Position: IT Support Specialist (Second Line)

Are you the go-to person when complex IT issues arise? Do you thrive in environments where no two days are the same?

We’re on the lookout for a Second Line IT Support Specialist to strengthen our technical support team in Cornwall. You’ll be part of a close-knit group that keeps hundreds of users across multiple businesses up and running every single day.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll troubleshoot, advise, and deliver practical solutions, whether remotely from the helpdesk or occasionally on-site with clients.

A Typical Week Might Involve

* Investigating technical escalations that 1st Line engineers can’t resolve.

* Supporting clients’ networks, servers, and cloud systems to keep operations running smoothly.

* Assisting with infrastructure upgrades and new software rollouts.

* Collaborating with senior engineers on project planning and technical delivery.

* Monitoring system performance and identifying potential security or performance risks.

* Sharing knowledge with colleagues and helping less experienced technicians grow.

* Keeping documentation accurate and up to date.

Skills & Background

* At least 2 years in a technical support or IT service role.

* Confidence working with Microsoft 365 (Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, Azure AD).

* Strong understanding of networks (LAN/WAN, VLAN, VPNs, Wi-Fi, IP addressing).

* Familiar with backup technologies and cloud-based storage.

* Comfortable managing Windows Server environments (Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, GPOs, etc.).

* Experience within a Managed Service Provider.

* Full UK driving licence.

* Technical certifications such as CompTIA A+ or equivalent.
