Our client, a leading player in the nuclear sector, is seeking a highly skilled Commissioning Engineer - Mechanical for a contract position. Reporting to the Commissioning Team Leader, you will be responsible for delivering assigned commissioning tasks safely and effectively, in line with industry standards and process requirements. This role specifically targets individuals with experience in nuclear in-cell handler testing and requires SC Clearance. 4 on 4 off rolling shift pattern also.
Key Responsibilities:
Executing arrangements for controlling, witnessing, recording, and assessing the results of commissioning tests affecting safety
Delivering the commissioning work scope to an agreed strategy and plan in a timely and cost-effective manner
Ensuring a proactive and balanced approach to safety (nuclear, radiological, conventional, and environmental) to optimise safety during commissioning
Reviewing commissioning progress and performance, taking corrective actions as necessary
Managing day-to-day liaison with personnel to obtain necessary permissions and minimise project impact
Reviewing commissioning test results
Ensuring input to other project processes such as design, HAZOP, risk, contract, estimating, and knowledge management
Job Requirements:
Experience in nuclear mechanical systems commissioning
Minimum HNC/HND in an engineering-related subject or equivalent
Experience in nuclear commissioning
Knowledge of project management, preferably as an APM member
Capability in calculation production using Excel
IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent qualification
Relevant trade card
Design Tools/Software:
Proficiency with the latest editions of Microsoft Office software
