IC Talent Recruitment is seeking an experienced and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support within a SEN school, working with students who present Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and challenging behaviour.
This role requires patience, consistency, and a strong understanding of behaviour management techniques. You’ll work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider pastoral team to help pupils engage in learning and feel safe, supported, and valued in the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with ASD and associated behavioural needs
*
Implement tailored strategies and de-escalation techniques to manage challenging behaviour
*
Adapt learning materials to meet individual needs and EHCP targets
*
Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment
*
Support emotional regulation, communication, and independence
*
Maintain consistent boundaries and promote positive routines
Requirements:
*
Experience working with children or young people with ASD and SEMH/challenging behaviour
*
Strong behaviour management and communication skills
*
A calm, empathetic, and resilient attitude
*
Knowledge of strategies such as PECs, visual timetables, or Team Teach (desirable)
*
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply)
