We’re hiring for a Mechanical Service Engineer to join a growing team based in Stockport.

This is a hands-on, field-based role that offers variety, autonomy and the chance to work on complex mechanical systems.

What’s on offer?

* £40,000 - £45,000 per year

* Monday - Friday 8:30am – 5:00pm

* Early finish on Fridays

* Overtime available (paid at enhanced rate)

* 20 days holiday (plus bank holidays)

* Paid travel + other expenses (when working away)

What will you be doing as a Mechanical Fitter?

* Carrying out mechanical installation, servicing, and repair of diesel generators

* Conducting routine maintenance and fault-finding on engines and fuel systems

* Working on generator control panels and electromechanical systems

* Supporting site commissioning, testing and customer handovers

* Keeping accurate job reports, timesheets and expenses

* Working to deadlines and supporting the wider install/service teams

* Upholding HSEQ procedures and manufacturer guidelines

What do you need?

* Previous experience in the diesel generator industry

* Strong knowledge of diesel engines, fuel systems and generator controls

* Familiarity with changeover systems and electromechanical installations

* Good understanding of PLCs and microprocessor-based systems

* Proficient with basic IT software (Word, Excel)
