Part time Year 6 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant. Morning support role
If you’re someone who enjoys connecting with older pupils and helping them feel understood, this part time role offers a calm and focused working pattern. You’ll support a Year 6 boy with autism who’s also on the pathway for ADHD assessment. He responds best to patient communication and someone who takes time to learn what helps him feel settled.
Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 support from 8.30am to 1.15pm on Monday, Thursday, and Friday.

Help with routines, transitions, and staying on task.
*
Use clear, calm language when he becomes distracted.
*
Support regulation using simple strategies that help him reset.
*
Build engagement through his interests like trains and age appropriate games.
*
Work closely with the teacher and SENCO on day to day approaches.
Requirements
*
Recent experience supporting children with autism or ADHD traits.
*
A calm, steady approach during challenging moments.
*
Confidence adapting classroom tasks.
*
Strong relationship building skills with older pupils.
*
Consistent availability on the specified mornings.
