Single Homeless Project have a new opportunity for a Finance Assistant to join our team based in Kings Cross. You will join us on a full time, permanent?basis, working 37.5 hours ?and in return, you will receive a competitive salary of starting at £27,007.50 and rising incrementally to £28,953.79 per annum.

About the Finance Assistant role:

We’re looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to become an integral part of our dynamic Finance Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills and gain broad experience across all aspects of the organisation’s accounts, working in a supportive and collaborative environment that values growth, learning, and contribution.

In this vital role, you’ll support the Accountant and the wider Finance Team with a variety of finance-related processes and administrative tasks. Your work will include processing invoices, payments, rent receipts, and other transactions - ensuring accuracy and timeliness from the very first point of data entry. You’ll be the go-to for handling queries, maintaining records, and helping to ensure the financial data we produce is not only precise but also adds real value to decision-making across Single Homeless Project (SHP). This role plays a key part in delivering high-quality transactional data that underpins everything from day-to-day operations to strategic planning and successful financial audits.

About you:

Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills.

Good communication skills.

Attention to detail.

Good numeracy skills and an understanding of double entry book keeping.

Good team player with ability to work on own initiative.

Demonstrable ability to use a computerised accounting system with specific ability to manage a large purchase and sales ledger. 

Good organisational, record keeping and time management skills.

A salary increase after successfully completing six month's probationary period

A 37.5 hour working week including flexible working hours (core hours are 10am – 4pm) in non-accommodation services

25 days annual leave, increasing annually to the maximum 30 days (plus paid Bank Holidays),
