Our client is seeking a highly experienced Principles Signalling Designer/Verifier to join their rail team. This is a senior position offering technical authority and leadership across a wide range of signalling projects within the UK rail sector.

The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering safe, efficient, and compliant signalling designs, while mentoring teams and ensuring the highest standards are met across all stages of project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and oversee signalling design activities across multiple projects.

*

Ensure design outputs meet all relevant standards, programme milestones, and client requirements.

*

Manage internal teams, subcontractors, and agency resources to deliver on time and within budget.

*

Undertake and check signalling designs in line with your IRSE licence and authority to work.

*

Provide technical authority, guidance, and mentorship to design staff.

*

Support project planning, risk assessment, change management, and client approvals.

*

Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure clear communication and project alignment.

*

Support bids and tendering processes by providing design input and technical advice.

Requirements:

*

Extensive signalling design experience with strong knowledge of signalling principles and standards.

*

IRSE Principles Designer Licence or IRSE Signalling Design Verifier Licence.

*

HNC/HND in a relevant engineering discipline (Degree desirable).

*

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

*

Experience mentoring and developing junior design staff.

*

CAD and Microsoft Office proficiency.

*

PTS and a full UK driving licence (desirable).
