Senior Manager, External Reporting
£90k-95k
Location: Manchester or Peterborough (Hybrid 1-2 days per week on-site)
About the Role:
We’re looking for a technically skilled and detail-focused Senior Manager – External Reporting to join our finance team. Reporting to the Head of Financial Control, you’ll play a critical role in preparing the Group Annual Report, managing the Group consolidation process, and leading technical accounting projects.
This is an exciting opportunity to step into a visible and impactful role, supporting senior leadership, guiding the business through technical change and ensuring high-quality financial reporting in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
What You’ll Be Doing
Lead the Group consolidation process, including:
Adding individual company accounts
Eliminating intercompany transactions
Incorporating group-level adjustments
Prepare consolidated group accounts and disclosures (including final documents in Word format)
Coordinate the Group Annual Report and subsidiary statutory accounts in line with IFRS
Manage the external audit process, including responding to audit queries and managing deliverables
Write and review technical accounting papers on complex group-level matters
Provide technical support to internal teams on accounting standards and policy implementation
Support and challenge key accounting estimates and judgments
Collaborate with peers, working cross-functionally with tax, FP&A, and other finance functions
What We’re Looking For
Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CA or equivalent), with 5+ years’ post-qualification experience
Proven experience in group consolidation and preparing consolidated accounts
Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP
Experience working with or managing external auditors
Skilled in writing technical accounting position papers
Advanced Excel skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with stakeholders at all levels
Financial services experience is a bonus, but not essential
