About the Role:

As a Teaching Assistant in Chesterfield, you will work closely with teachers and students to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment. Your support will be vital in helping students with SEMH needs thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities of Teaching Assistant (TA):

Provide Classroom Support: Assist teachers with daily classroom activities and ensure students’ needs are met.
Support Individual Learning Plans: Help implement tailored learning strategies for students with SEMH needs.
Monitor Student Progress: Track and assess student development, adjusting support as needed.
Collaborate with Staff and External Agencies: Work with colleagues and external professionals to provide holistic support.
Create a Positive Learning Environment: Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive atmosphere.
Engage and Motivate Students: Use creative approaches to inspire and encourage student participation.
Maintain Records: Keep accurate records of student progress and communicate effectively with relevant stakeholders.
Requirements of Teaching Assistant (TA):

Experience: Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role.
Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Relationship Building: Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
Commitment: A genuine passion for supporting students with SEMH needs.
Qualifications: Relevant qualifications or training in education (desirable but not essential).
Driver: Must be a driver.
SEMH Experience: Experience working with students with SEMH is essential.

Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from the last 2 years.
Have an enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one.
