Do you have the resilience and empathy to support a child in need of a consistent, positive role model?

Tradewind Education is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant for a specialised 1:1 role within a welcoming Blackpool-based primary school. This position is focused on supporting a Year 5 boy who presents with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and has a history of trauma.

Role Overview

Start Date: As soon as possible.

Duration: Long term - term time temporary

Hours: Monday - Friday, 08:30 - 15:30 (30-minute lunch break).

Location: Blackpool (Central).

Pay: £13.68-£14.68

The Position

You will be working 1:1 to provide a stable and nurturing environment, helping this student navigate the school day. Use trauma-informed approaches to manage dysregulation and promote positive behaviour.

Build a trusting, professional relationship with the student to increase classroom engagement.

Work closely with the SENCO and class teacher to monitor progress and well-being.

Foster an inclusive environment that prioritizes the student's mental health.

We are looking for someone who:

Has proven experience supporting children with SEMH, ADHD, or Trauma-related needs.

Remains calm, patient, and resilient under pressure.

Possesses strong communication skills and an adaptable nature.

Is reliable and committed to the consistency this student requires.

Holds a relevant TA qualification or has significant experience in a similar setting (e.g., youth work, residential care, or SEN schooling).
