We are seeking a proactive and experienced Team Leader to oversee and support a team of Healthcare Assistants (HCAs) and Support Workers in a care home environment. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in care who is ready to step into a leadership position and ensure high standards of care delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and supervise HCAs/Support Workers, ensuring quality care is delivered in line with care plans.
Support the development, coordination, and review of individual care plans.
Provide hands-on care when needed, modeling best practices for the team.
Mentor, train, and motivate staff, addressing any performance or conduct issues proactively.
Ensure accurate documentation of care and timely reporting of changes in residents’ conditions.
Liaise with families, healthcare professionals, and management to maintain clear and effective communication.
Uphold and enforce hygiene, health & safety, and infection control standards.
Assist in scheduling shifts and ensuring adequate staff coverage.
Requirements:
Previous experience in a senior care role or as a Team Leader in a healthcare or residential setting.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Compassionate and person-centered approach to care.
NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or working towards it) is desirable.
Ability to manage a team effectively while ensuring compliance with care standards and protocols.
Flexibility to work various shifts and provide support when required
