A well-established main contractor based in Birmingham is seeking an experienced Pre-Construction Manager to join their commercial team, supporting the delivery of industrial and logistics projects valued up to £50 million.

This is a key role within the business, working closely with estimating, commercial, design, and business development teams to successfully take projects from early engagement through to construction.

The Role

As Pre-Construction Manager, you will be responsible for managing the pre-construction process and ensuring tenders and negotiated projects are effectively planned, costed, and de-risked.

Key responsibilities include:

Managing pre-construction activities from early-stage design through to contract award

Coordinating input from estimating, commercial, design, and planning teams

Leading tender strategy, programme development, and value engineering

Managing risk, opportunity, and buildability reviews

Supporting client and consultant meetings during pre-construction

Ensuring smooth handover from pre-construction to delivery teams

About You

Proven experience in a Pre-Construction Manager or similar role with a main contractor

Strong background in industrial and logistics projects

Sound commercial awareness and understanding of construction processes

Experience managing tenders and negotiated work up to £50m

Confident communicator with strong stakeholder management skills
