Maintenance Engineer

Job Type: Full-timeOur client is looking for a highly skilled Maintenance Engineer to ensure facilities operate at peak efficiency and safety. This role is crucial in maintaining state-of-the-art facilities, including modern laboratories and historic buildings set within a beautifully landscaped parkland estate.

Day-to-day of the role:

Investigate and diagnose issues across various systems including boilers, chillers, and medical gas systems, performing both planned and reactive maintenance.
Optimize system performance for energy efficiency through detailed data analysis and operational improvements.
Handle the commissioning and re-commissioning of plant and equipment as necessary.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and outcomes using the CAFM system.
Ensure compliance with all safety standards and regulations, completing risk assessments and method statements for all tasks.
Participate in an emergency call-out service on a rotational basis.
Coordinate with the Helpdesk and manage relationships with contractors to ensure high standards of maintenance across the campus.
Supervise and manage specialist sub-contractors, ensuring all maintenance activities are performed according to schedule and standards.Required Skills & Qualifications:

Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer, preferably within a similar environment.
Familiarity with boilers, chillers, heat pumps, medical gas systems, and BMS systems.
Strong understanding of building services maintenance including building fabric.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to perform under pressure.
Proficient in using CAFM systems and interpreting BMS data.
Strong communication skills for effective coordination with various teams and contractors.
