This post is for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer who will ensure technical compliance and enhance the overall service provided by the company, maintaining competitiveness through correct product selection and high installation standards. The role is responsible for ensuring that design projects are delivered to specification and in compliance with industry regulations and legislation.

Key Responsibilities:

Knowledge of RIBA stages.

*

Involvement in technical aspects of installation, such as site inspections.

*

Working with the Project Manager to ensure installation complies with the design and specification.

*

Reviewing consultant designs and calculations for design and build projects.

*

Advising the estimating department on technical compliance and value engineering.

*

Attending client and internal design team meetings on design and build projects.

*

Collaborating with the buying department to ensure correct product supply and technical submissions to the client.

*

Reviewing new products entering the market.

*

Attending client pre-start meetings to demonstrate technical knowledge and professionalism.

*

Reviewing and appraising quotations received, commenting on comparisons and compliance with specifications and drawings.

*

Ensuring compliance with all statutory and regulatory obligations, making submissions to statutory authorities and obtaining approvals as necessary.

*

Keeping the design team fully informed of all technical and project-related information.

*

Reviewing all design documentation and ensuring calculations are prepared and signed off in accordance with relevant standards and codes of practice.

*

Representing the company at client, design team, and progress meetings during the design and construction phases.

*

Reviewing commissioning reports and ensuring compliance with the design and specification.

*

Preparing record 'As Installed' drawings, marked up and issued for CAD.

*

Managing all production aspects of the project from the office.

*

Demonstrating the ability to work accurately, independently, efficiently, and take ownership of projects.
