On behalf of our client, a well-established SME specializing in high-quality fit-out contracts with an annual turnover of £6 million, we are seeking an Estimator to join their growing team. The client is open to considering Assistant Estimators who are ready to take the next step in their career.

Position: Estimator
Salary: Up to £35,000 per year (dependent on experience)
Location: Uckfield
Contract Type: Full-Time

About the Role:

Our client delivers exceptional fit-out projects across a range of sectors and is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Estimator to support the pre-construction and tendering stages of various projects. You’ll work closely with senior commercial staff and gain increased responsibility as you develop within the business.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare accurate cost estimates for fit-out and refurbishment projects.

*

Analyse drawings, specifications, and project documents to assess material, labour, and time requirements.

*

Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing.

*

Assist in preparing tender documentation and submissions.

*

Support the commercial team with cost planning and budget management.

*

Attend site visits and pre-tender meetings as required.

Candidate Requirements:

*

Experience in an estimating or commercial support role (ideally 2+ years within construction or fit-out).

*

Assistant Estimators looking to step up are encouraged to apply.

*

Strong analytical and numerical skills with excellent attention to detail.

*

Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively.

*

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and basic estimating software (training provided if needed).

*

Based locally or within a commutable distance to Uckfield.
