General Teaching Assistant

About the role
Teach Now is seeking a dedicated and adaptable general teaching assistant to join a vibrant and inclusive school in Hertfordshire on a part-time, temporary basis starting immediately. This is an excellent opportunity to work across a range of key stages, supporting both primary and secondary pupils, including those with special educational needs (SEN).

Whether you’re an experienced TA looking for a fresh challenge or a recent graduate eager to build school-based experience, this role offers variety, impact, and professional growth in a supportive educational setting.

Key responsibilities
• Supporting learning activities across KS3–KS5, and occasionally in the primary setting
• Assisting children with additional needs (SEN), ensuring inclusion and engagement
• Working alongside teachers to deliver high-quality lessons
• Supporting individuals and small groups with tailored interventions
• Helping to create a calm, positive learning environment

About the school
• Located in the well-connected and scenic area of Hertfordshire
• Inclusive ethos focused on respect, engagement, and achievement
• Strong commitment to staff development and student support
• Welcoming team and positive working culture

What we’re looking for
• Experience working with children or young people (school-based preferred)
• A calm, patient and proactive approach
• A genuine passion for education and helping students succeed
• Willingness to work flexibly across age groups and abilities

If you're ready to make a difference in the lives of young learners and join a team that values your contribution, we want to hear from you.
