We’re currently seeking a Fitter Fabricator to join our maintenance team. This hands-on role is key to ensuring the performance and safety of our kiln car systems – the critical transport units that move bricks in and out of our kilns and dryers.

Location: Ewhurst Full-Time | Permanent
Monday to Friday, 7:30am – 4:30pm (40 hours/week)
£35,000 – £37,000 per year (including allowances and bonuses)

What You’ll Be Doing

Working as part of a dedicated team, you’ll become a specialist in your area with full training provided. Your duties will include:

Repairing and maintaining steelwork and main frames of kiln cars
Performing basic welding and tacking
Straightening kiln car decks and replacing damaged refractory blocks
Maintaining stock levels of key materials
Repairing and greasing kiln car axles and wheels
Stripping and rebuilding kiln car refractory structures
Conducting running repairs and lubrication
Recording material usage and maintaining accurate stock/repair records
Maintaining high standards of housekeeping and safety
What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who enjoys hands-on, physical work and takes pride in maintaining high standards. You’ll also need:

Basic welding and fabrication experience
The ability to read and interpret fabrication engineering drawings
A flexible, team-oriented attitude with a willingness to learn
Previous experience in a factory or manufacturing environment
Good general safety awareness and a commitment to safe working practices
Physical fitness to perform manual tasks regularly
Ideal background: Welder Fabricator, Mechanical Fitter, Sheet Metal Worker, Grinder, Maintenance Fitter, maintenance engineer plater / plating or Trailer Body Builder.
