Senior Quantity Surveyor

* £30m Pharmaceutical Project

* Permanent: up to £80,000 + Package

* Site Based in Wantage

We are currently searching for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join one of the UK’s busiest Main Contractors operating in the commercial new build sector. This particular project a new build laboratory which they will deliver to Shell & Core.

As Senior Quantity Surveyor you will be commercial lead on the project reportable to the Commercial Manager.

Duties:

* Cost Estimation and Budgeting:

* Assesses project requirements, reviews architectural plans, and estimates costs for materials, labour, and equipment.

* Create detailed budgets, considering factors like inflation, market rates, and project complexity.

* Procurement and Contract Management:

* Handle procurement processes, including sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts, and managing subcontractors.

* Ensure compliance with contract terms, monitor variations, and assess claims.

* Risk Management:

* Identify and mitigate risks related to cost, schedule, and quality.

* Analyse potential risks, propose solutions, and implement risk management strategies.

* Measurement and Valuation:

* Measures quantities of work completed on-site (e.g., concrete, steel, etc.).

* Value work done, prepare interim payment applications, and negotiate final accounts.

* Change Management:

* Handles variations and change orders during construction.

* Assess the impact of changes on cost, time, and quality.

* Dispute Resolution:

* Resolves commercial disputes, such as disagreements over valuations or contractual obligations.

* Participate in mediation, arbitration, or legal proceedings.

* Project Reporting and Documentation:

* Maintains accurate records of project costs, payments, and variations.

* Prepare progress reports, cost forecasts, and final accounts.

* Stakeholder Communication:

* Liaises with clients, contractors, architects, and other stakeholders.

* Attend meetings, provide cost advice, and address queries.

Experience Required:

* 5+ Years Quantity Surveying experience

* Experience delivering schemes up to £20m

* Commercial new build experience, preferably with both RC Frame and Steel Frame experience
