We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Secondary Teaching Assistant to join a supportive team in Barnsley.

This role is ideal for individuals passionate about supporting young people in their educational journey and making a real difference in the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide in-class support to students under the direction of the class teacher.
Assist in the planning and delivery of learning activities for individuals or small groups.
Support students with special educational needs (SEN), ensuring inclusion and access to learning.
Promote a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
Help manage classroom behavior in line with the school's policy.
Prepare resources and materials for lessons.
Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
Supervise students during breaks, lunchtimes, or school outings when required.
Requirements:

Previous experience working with secondary school-aged children, ideally in a school setting.
A relevant qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or equivalent) is desirable.
Good literacy and numeracy skills (minimum GCSEs or equivalent in English and Maths).
Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in supporting young people.
Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other staff members.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A proactive and flexible approach to daily tasks.
An understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies (training will be provided).
