We’re on the lookout for a dedicated and enthusiastic (and organised) Purchasing Administrator to join an expanding, and highly regarded company - based in Dartford.
Please note that this permanent opportunity is 100% office based (Not Hybrid), and the hours of work are 7.30am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday. The site WILL be relocating to the Aylesford area before the end of the year. Own transport is desirable.
This exciting and varied opportunity is great for someone who’s good at keeping things running smoothly, loves working with numbers and suppliers, and who doesn’t mind diving into the day-to-day admin work.
In a typical day, you’ll be liaising with suppliers, reducing lead times, whilst focusing on daily requisitions. In this fast paced office environment, it will be your exquisite attention to detail, and your proven ability to build strong supplier relationships that will add genuine value to this very supportive team.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Action daily requisitions via the internal purchasing system
* Put together, check, and process purchase orders while following company procedures
* Build and maintain the strongest of business relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure mutually beneficial outcomes
* Follow up with suppliers, ensure deliveries arrive on time and fix any issues that pop up
* Process invoices and raise purchase orders
* Use Microsoft Excel to pull together reports and crunch numbers to help with decisions
* Keep an eye on inventory levels to avoid running out or overstocking, and work with other teams when needed
* Become THE 1st point of contact for one of the Company’s leading / core product, and take the lead in managing the supply chain, manufacturing timeframes and budgets
* Work closely with different teams to plan ahead and identify cost savings, processes improvements, and enhance working relationships
* Make sure everything follows company rules, industry standards, and ethical practices
What We’re Looking For
* Degree educated in Purchasing, Supply Chain Management (or similar)
* A professional Purchasing qualification – such as CIPS
* Previous purchasing / procurement experience
* Excellent and proven Microsoft Excel skills, especially using things like pivot tables, data analysis, and formulas
* Knowledge and experience of using procurement software (Syrinx or similar)
* A background gained from a Manufacturing / process driven environment
* Great organisational and time-management skills—you’ll need to juggle tasks and get things done on time
* Clear communication skills, both when writing and talking, for dealing with suppliers and your teammates
* An eye for detail and the ability to identify and fix problems quickly
* Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
* Familiarity with procurement software or ERP systems would be handy
