SEN Teaching Assistant – Speech & Language Focus

Teach Now is working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Enfield to recruit an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant with a strong background in Speech and Language support. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated professional who is passionate about supporting young people with additional communication needs across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5.

In this role, you will work closely with pupils who have Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN), providing targeted one-to-one and small group support. You will collaborate with teachers, the SENCo, and external professionals such as Speech and Language Therapists to help pupils access the curriculum, develop communication skills, and build confidence in the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:

• Delivering Speech & Language-focused interventions under guidance

• Supporting students with SEN in lessons and structured activities

• Encouraging positive communication, interaction, and engagement

• Monitoring progress and providing feedback to teaching staff

• Promoting a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Previous experience supporting Speech & Language needs (essential)

• Experience working in a secondary school or SEN setting

• A patient, nurturing, and proactive approach

• Strong communication and teamwork skills
