As a Transport Supervisor you will provide effective leadership and support to a team of drivers and administrators.
As part of your key responsibilities you’ll:
Promote and maintain a safe working environment, in line with Unipart’s Health, Safety and Environmental policies
Ensure our customer promise is delivered, engaging with our customers and promoting the Unipart brand values
Ensure the legal compliance of transport operations under your control
Manage cost and service in line with agreed Key Performance Indicators
Ensure quality standards are maintained in line with OTIF measures
Ensure the team achieves the performance targets required and contributes to the achievement of service levels
Liaise with the Warehouse teams to ensure all loads are completed accurately and loaded on time
Accountability for employee satisfaction levels by applying good leadership and employee engagement practices
Ensure compliance with the organisations health, safety and security procedures and contribute to risk assessments and the development of safe systems of work
Promote and behave in a way consistent with Unipart’s vision, values, and principals
Facilitate effective communication, between your team, peers, and the management team
Communicate and support the implementation of internal continuous improvement tools and techniques
About You
We’d love you to have the following skills and experience, but please apply if you think you’d be able to perform well in this role!
Experience as a transport manager with transport planning
Experience of working in an operational/transport environment
Proven experience of delivering excellent customer service
Capability to plan and manage your own workload and communicate effectively to others
Knowledge of transport legislation, Working Time Directive, Drivers hours
Working knowledge and experience using digital transport systems (Microlise, TruPac, Paragon or similar)
Desirable but not essential Certified Transport Manager (refresher/qualified)
