Job Title: Ocean Freight Coordinator

Location: Ipswich, IP10
Salary: £28,000 per annum
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:30pm

About the Role:

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Import/Export Coordinator with at least 1-2 years of experience in deep-sea operations. This is an exciting opportunity to join a busy and fast-paced team where full training on customs entry procedures will be provided.

You will play a key role in supporting the import/export operations from end to end, ensuring shipments are processed efficiently and in compliance with customs regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Monitor and track daily shipments to ensure timely movement and delivery.
Liaise with importers, overseas agents, and internal teams to collect all necessary information for customs clearance.
Review commercial invoices and packing lists to extract accurate data for CDS import declarations.
Support clients with goods classification and import requirements.
Use specialist software including CNS and Destin8 for cargo and shipment tracking.
Coordinate carrier haulage bookings with shipping lines.
Arrange haulage and container unpacking with approved hauliers and third-party warehouses.
Communicate with overseas agents to receive pre-alerts and provide updates on cargo delivery status.
Handle relevant import documentation including EUR1s, Certificates of Origin, CHEDs, COIs, and other regulatory paperwork.
Key Requirements:

1-2 years of experience in import/export operations (deep-sea experience essential).
Strong organisational and multitasking skills in a busy environment.
Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal.
A proactive and flexible approach with the ability to adapt to operational needs.
IT literate, with experience using industry-standard platforms such as CNS, Destin8, and MS Office.
Knowledge of UK import documentation and procedures is advantageous.What We Offer:
