Belmont Recruitment are currently seeking a Caretaker to join Rochdale Borough Council’s Facilities Management team on an initial 3 month temporary contract. This is a full-time role working a split shift pattern (morning and afternoon).

Main Duties

*

Oversee the maintenance, security and cleaning of the premises, both internally and externally

*

Act as keyholder and respond to call-outs, alarms or emergencies as required

*

Operate heating, lighting and hot water systems, maintaining safe and efficient performance

*

Carry out minor repair and maintenance tasks such as patch plastering, painting and basic joinery

*

Supervise cleaning staff, organise rotas and ensure timesheets and attendance records are accurate

*

Ensure safe access and egress to premises in adverse weather conditions such as snow, ice or flooding

*

Manage porterage duties, moving furniture and equipment as needed for daily operations and events

*

Support school or building lettings, ensuring areas are prepared and cleaned before and after use

Essential Criteria

*

Experience in building maintenance, repair and security

*

Ability to carry out minimal cleaning duties to required standards

*

Willingness to work a split shift
