A leading employee-owned planning consultancy is currently seeking a highly experienced RTPI Chartered Town Planner to take on the role of Associate Director in either their Bedford or Rugby office.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a respected and growing team, working across a diverse portfolio of private and public sector development projects — including residential, specialist housing, and commercial schemes.

As Associate Director, the successful candidate will:

Lead on a range of planning projects including applications, site promotions, appeals, local plan work, hearings, and public inquiries
Support and supervise junior team members
Maintain and grow the firm’s client base in the East Midlands and East of England
Develop new business opportunities through networking and relationship management
Contribute to high-profile infrastructure and development projects, particularly in the renewables, residential, and commercial sectorsIdeal Candidate Profile:

MRTPI-qualified, with 8–10+ years' post-qualification experience
Strong background in private sector planning consultancy
Proven ability to manage complex applications and planning strategy
Experience engaging directly with clients, local authorities, and stakeholders
Confident in leading teams and contributing to business growth
Holds a full UK driving licence Benefits:
