We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing manufacturer in the Durham area, seeking an experienced General Operative. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking company that values precision, quality, and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

* Operate woodworking machinery such as saws, sanders, CNC routers, and edge banders

* Conduct quality checks to ensure compliance with fire safety standards and company specifications.

* Follow production schedules and work orders accurately.

* Maintain a clean and organized work area in line with health and safety regulations.

* Report equipment faults or safety concerns to the supervisor promptly.

* Assist with loading/unloading materials and finished products.

* Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and training programs.

Skills & Experience Required:

* Previous experience in a manufacturing or woodworking environment preferred.

* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and work instructions.

* Familiarity with hand tools and power tools.

* Basic understanding of health and safety practices in a factory setting.

* Good attention to detail and quality-focused mindset.

* Physically fit and able to lift heavy materials safely.

* Team player with good communication skills
