Child In Care Team, Senior Social Worker - Alton, East Hampshire - Senior Social Worker

East Hampshire's Children in Care (CIC) Team are seeking an experienced and confident Senior Social Worker to join their supportive and child‑focused service. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the long‑term wellbeing, stability and outcomes of children and young people who are looked after.
In this role, you will take responsibility for a manageable CIC caseload, delivering high‑quality, relationship‑based practice grounded in permanence planning and trauma‑informed approaches. You will work closely with carers, multi‑agency professionals, Independent Reviewing Officers and partner agencies to ensure every child's voice is central to assessment, planning and decision‑making.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead on Looked After Children (LAC) statutory duties, including visits, assessments, care planning and timely case reviews.
Ensure robust permanence planning, tracking progress and identifying barriers early to avoid drift and delay.
Provide skilled, reflective casework oversight and support less experienced colleagues where needed.
Build effective relationships with children and young people, ensuring their experiences, identity and aspirations shape all planning.
Prepare high‑quality reports, court documentation and review updates that reflect clear analysis and child‑centred practice.
Develop strong partnerships with fostering teams, health, education, therapeutic services and families to drive positive outcomes.What We're Looking For:
A Senior Social Worker with strong CIC/LAC experience and excellent assessment and planning skills.
Confident decision‑making ability and an understanding of the complexity of corporate parenting responsibilities.
Someone who contributes positively to team culture, brings solutions, and models best practice.
A practitioner committed to trauma‑informed, stability‑focused work that strengthens children's lived experience in care.
Pay: £42 per hour
Location: Alton, East Hampshire
