Are you passionate about making a real difference in your community? We’re looking for an Accommodation Officer to join our busy team, supporting the delivery and management of Temporary, Transitional and Settled accommodation for those facing homelessness in Newport.

You’ll play a key role in coordinating temporary accommodation bookings, supporting tenants, and ensuring the smooth running of placements across the city. This is an exciting opportunity for someone energetic, motivated, and experienced in housing services.

* Location: Newport City Centre (John Frost Square) with travel across Newport

* Hours: 37 per week

* Rate: £18.00 per hour (Umbrella)

* Strong experience in delivering housing or accommodation services

* Ability to manage challenging situations professionally

* A commitment to achieving positive outcomes for vulnerable residents

* Someone who can work independently, think on their feet, and act with compassion and professionalism

* Access to your own transport for travel throughout Newport

Your Key Responsibilities

* Manage rent accounts and minimise arrears

* Safeguard tenants and identify support needs

* Oversee client placements and moves to maximise suitable accommodation

* Provide office-based duty support, including completing licence agreements, occupational contracts, and housing benefit forms

* Work across various sites and properties as needed
