Construction Teacher - Alternative Provision
Location: Nottingham (NG5)
Salary: £180-£210 per day (dependent on experience)
Contract: Full-Time | Term Time Only | Long Term to Permanent
Start Date: September 2025

We are currently seeking a passionate and skilled Construction Teacher to join a specialist alternative provision in Nottingham (NG5), supporting students aged 13-16 (KS3 and KS4) who are disengaged from mainstream education. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on teaching, thrives in a practical learning environment, and wants to make a difference in young people's lives.

As a Construction Teacher, you will deliver engaging and vocationally relevant lessons in a small group setting, helping students develop practical skills. You'll be key in guiding students towards gaining real-world skills and working towards industry recognised qualifications.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver high-quality, practical construction lessons tailored to KS3 and KS4 learners
Create an inclusive, and productive workshop/classroom environment
Support students in gaining confidence, resilience and employability skills
Adapt teaching methods to meet the individual needs of learners with SEMH and behavioural needs
Work collaboratively with pastoral staff and behaviour mentors to support student development
Track student progress and contribute to assessment and accreditation where appropriateIdeal Candidate:

Practical experience in the construction industry
Previous experience teaching or instructing construction or related vocational skills is desirable
Strong understanding of the challenges faced by students with SEMH and behavioural difficulties
Patient, resilient, and passionate about vocational education
Teaching qualification (QTS, QTLS, or Level 3 Award in Education & Training) is advantageous but not essentialWhy Apply?
