Our client, a leading player in the defence and aerospace sector, is currently seeking a Supplier Quality Specialist to join their team in Sunbury on Thames. This permanent role is crucial in ensuring high standards of supplier quality assurance within the business unit of Air Technology.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and maintain the company's relationships with suppliers, working closely with internal customers such as operations, purchasing, project leaders, quality, and external suppliers.
Ensure all supplier quality system documentation is maintained and complies with the Supplier Quality Manual for new product introduction (NPI) suppliers.
Improve supplier quality metrics by addressing non-conformances in a timely manner.
Conduct source inspection activities for resourcing and support new product introduction.
Implement robust problem-solving techniques, such as 8D Root Cause and Corrective Action, with suppliers.
Drive improvements in supplier quality metrics through rigorous root cause identification and corrective action closure.
Promote and support continuous improvement and lean practices within the supply chain.
Conduct audits on supplier sites and support the supplier selection strategy for new product introduction.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including procurement, quality, and engineering, to ensure effective communication and alignment.
Support the strategic purchasing team during regular business reviews with key suppliers.
Assist in third-party audits as required.
Job Requirements:
Experience in quality assurance within the aerospace or defence sectors.
Knowledge of supplier quality systems and documentation processes.
Strong skills in problem-solving methodologies, specifically 8D Root Cause and Corrective Actions.
Experience in continuous improvement and lean practices.
Competence in conducting supplier audits and supporting supplier selection strategies.
Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality standards.
Understanding of health and safety regulations and the ability to adhere to company policies and procedures.
