Astute's Power Team are currently recruiting 2 QA/QC Lead Engineers to join a Electrical Main Contractor on a new build Waste to Energy facility based in Chester, Cheshire for 6 months.
The day rate for the QA/QC Lead Engineers is £450.00 to £480.00 per day outside of IR35.
Role responsibilities and key skills for the role:
Lead QA/QC activities for the electrical installation works, ensuring compliance with project specifications, ITPs, British Standards, and client quality requirements.
Develop and implement the Electrical Quality Management Plan (QMP), Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and associated quality procedures.
Coordinate inspections and testing for LV/MV/HV systems, switchgear, cabling, earthing, instrumentation, and control systems in line with project milestones.
Interface with client representatives, third-party inspectors, and internal teams to manage quality audits, NCRs, and close-out of punch lists.
Monitor and report on the quality performance of subcontractors, ensuring corrective actions are implemented where required.
Manage QA/QC documentation including red-line markups, test packs, material certificates, and final turnover dossiers.
Provide guidance and training to site personnel on quality procedures and best practices to maintain high standards.
Support commissioning teams by verifying quality-related documentation and system readiness for energization and handover.
Conduct root cause analysis and implement preventive actions to eliminate recurring quality issues during construction and commissioning phases.
Champion a quality-first culture across the project team to ensure delivery of a safe, efficient, and compliant electrical installation.Location, day rate and timeframe of the QA/QC Engineer positions:
