Senior Administrator - The Lodge & Fowlmere

Contract: Permanent
Hours: Full Time, 37.5 hours per week
Salary: £25,847.00 - £27,594.00 Per Annum

This role is predominantly based at The Lodge Gate House with the occasional option of working from home.
Would you like to work at The RSPB Lodge & Fowlmere reserves? We are looking for a Senior Administrator who is an excellent team player to support our team including our Senior Site Manager, Visitor Experience, Land Management, Shop and Café, Head Gardener and Volunteers.
The Lodge is a unique reserve, also RSPB's UK headquarters. There are trails exploring heathland, woodland, exemplar wildlife gardens, and ancient heritage; it is home to Nightjar, Hobby, Natterjack Toad and Dartmoor Ponies, and attracts over 60k visitors.
Fowlmere, near Cambridge, is a jewel of a wetland where around 40k visitors enjoy exploring reedbeds and wet woodlands, and seeing Water Vole, Marsh Harrier, Brown Trout and fenland flowers.
You need to be enthusiastic and highly self-motivated, with strong organisational skills.
As a Senior Administrator you will provide comprehensive personal administrative support to senior staff in your work area facilitating the delivery of work programmes and an effective working environment.

Essential knowledge
* Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (especially Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint), plus the ability to impart this knowledge on to others
* Knowledge of document management and team collaboration tools.
* Knowledge of budget management terminology and processes.
Essential skills
* Able to communicate effectively with a wide range of audiences whether by phone, email or in person.
* Able to organise meetings and events, from small up to very large (hundreds of attendees), and coordinate all aspects of the meeting or event logistics.
* Able to make the best use of time particularly when under pressure from competing priorities, prioritising and delegating tasks effectively, during periods of both low and high demand.
* Able to negotiate and influence effectively.
* Able to identify and act on opportunities for continually improving ways of working.
* Able to proactively identify and solve problems.
* Able to deal with confidential and sensitive information appropriately
* Able to take meeting notes and minutes clearly and concisely
Essential experience
* Experience of providing administrative support within a large and complex organisation.
* Experience of office management and maintaining a safe working environment.
* Experience of liaising with staff at all levels in external organisations, particularly to support partnership working.
* Experience of managing and reporting financial information.
