Adults Social Worker - Lewisham Council

Are you a passionate and dedicated Adults Social Worker looking for a rewarding opportunity in a supportive and dynamic environment? Lewisham Council is seeking an experienced individual to join our Adult Social Care team.
About the Role:
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Social Worker to make a real difference in the lives of adults in the London Borough of Lewisham. You will be responsible for a varied and essential caseload, contributing to the well-being and independence of our residents.
Key Responsibilities will include:
* Conducting comprehensive Care Act Assessments to identify individuals' needs and determine eligibility for support.
* Carrying out robust Mental Capacity Assessments in line with the Mental Capacity Act (2005) to ensure individuals' rights and best interests are upheld.
* Leading and participating in Safeguarding Enquiries, responding effectively to concerns about abuse or neglect and ensuring appropriate protective measures are in place.
* Actively participating in Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) meetings, collaborating with health professionals and other agencies to develop holistic care plans.
* Attending and contributing to Best Interest Meetings, advocating for individuals who lack capacity to make specific decisions.
* Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records in line with professional and council standards.
* Working collaboratively with service users, their families, carers, and other professionals.
About You:
We are looking for a highly motivated and skilled Adults Social Worker with:
* A recognised Social Work qualification (e.g., DipSW, CQSW, BA Hons Social Work, MA Social Work).
* Current registration with Social Work England.
* Demonstrable experience in undertaking Care Act Assessments, Mental Capacity Assessments, and Safeguarding Enquiries within an Adults Social Care setting.
* A strong understanding of relevant legislation, including the Care Act 2014 and the Mental Capacity Act 2005.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and report-writing skills.
* The ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, managing a diverse caseload effectively.
* A commitment to promoting independence, choice, and control for service users.
