We are currently seeking an experienced Joiner to join a busy Repairs & Maintenance team for a respected public sector housing organisation based in Derby. This is a full-time, temporary position offering a consistent schedule and the opportunity to make a direct impact in local communities.
As a Joiner, you will be responsible for carrying out a range of maintenance, repair, and installation work across housing stock, schools, and public buildings. You’ll work both independently and alongside other trades to ensure high-quality workmanship and excellent customer service.
Key responsibilities include:

Performing general joinery repairs and maintenance
*
First and second fix joinery installations
*
Working from design drawings and job specifications
*
Liaising with tenants as part of a scheduled appointment system
*
Maintaining van stock and completing all job documentation
*
Participating in the out-of-hours emergency rota (as required)
*
Complying with health & safety and PPE requirements
We’re looking for a professional and reliable individual with experience in a similar role. You’ll be customer-focused, safety-conscious, and able to work on your own initiative.
Essential requirements:

City & Guilds or NVQ Level 2/3 in Carpentry & Joinery (or equivalent)
*
Proven experience in domestic maintenance and repairs
*
Ability to carry out both 1st and 2nd fix joinery
*
Full UK Driving Licence
*
Comfortable working at heights (up to 12 metres)
*
Strong knowledge of power tools and safe working practices
*
Good communication and record-keeping skills
