Overview:
The Design Engineer will develop mechanical products within an ISO 9001 environment, using 3D CAD systems and applying DFMA and continuous improvement principles to deliver cost-effective, innovative solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Creates 3D models, assemblies, and 2D drawings using NX, Inventor, or AutoCAD.

*

Conducts FEA/FMEA analyses to ensure performance and safety.

*

Manages new product development and improves existing designs.

*

Produces Bills of Materials, specifications, and technical documentation.

*

Applies Value Engineering (VAVE) principles and participates in continuous improvement initiatives.

*

Collaborates with colleagues, suppliers, and customers.

Skills & Experience:

*

5+ years’ mechanical design experience in a 3D CAD environment.

*

Proficiency in NX, Inventor, or AutoCAD.

*

Experience with FEA preferred; knowledge of rotating machinery advantageous.

*

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to meet tight deadlines.

*

Team player with a proactive, positive attitude.

Qualifications:

*

Degree in Mechanical Engineering or HNC/HND with relevant experience.

*

Experience design machinery with rotating parts

*

Hand calcs and engineering calculations experience

*

IEng registration desirable but not essential
