Job Description:
We're looking for an experienced Level 3 Behavioural/Pastoral Lead to join a supportive primary school in Blackburn. Starting in September 2025, this is a permanent, full-time role supporting pupils with behavioural, emotional and social needs.
If you're passionate about building strong relationships, helping children manage their emotions, and creating a safe and positive school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with behavioural and emotional needs
Lead on behaviour strategies and support plans across the school
Work closely with class teachers, the SENCO, senior leaders and parents/carers
Monitor and track pupil progress, behaviour incidents, and interventions
Support the development of whole-school behaviour policies and restorative practices
Be a visible, calming presence across the school dayRequirements:
Level 3 qualification in a relevant area (e.g. Teaching Assistant, Childcare, or Behaviour Support)
Proven experience working with children with behavioural and/or SEMH needs
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Confidence in managing challenging behaviour using de-escalation and positive support strategies
