I have recently had an exciting opportunity come up to work with a national organisation as a Managing Quantity Surveyor. You will be working within the social housing planned refurbishment programme on various projects and you will be based from home/office and on-site. The role involves leading a team of commercially focused employees to evaluate information to help understand and present the costs for the designated refurbishment projects.

Skills needed in the Managing Quantity Surveyor role:

You will have experience of working as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within the Construction industry
Ideal if you have an understanding of the Social Housing sector
Ideal if you possess experience of managing a small team of QS's while also managing your own projects
You will have strong commercial acumen and excellent attention to detail
Good understanding of IT and proficient office skills
Responsibilities of the Managing Quantity Surveyor role:

Assist Commercial Manager with effective financial management during pre-commencement stage in order to reduce risk and increase target contribution prior to commencement on site
Play fundamental role within the site team to ensure the efficient delivery of each scheme
Undertake financial management and accurate reportage, in accordance with company procedures
Carry out key commercial tasks such as bonus payments, subcontract procurement and management, site measurement and internal and external valuations
