Home & Community-Based Tutor – Stockport (SK1)

Are you looking for a more meaningful way to use your teaching experience? We’re searching for tutors in the Stockport (SK1) area to support children and young people who are currently out of mainstream education.
This role is all about providing tailored, one-to-one tuition—usually in the pupil’s home or a local library. The pupils you’ll work with may be out of school for a variety of reasons, including anxiety, health issues, or gaps in learning. Your role will help them to rebuild confidence and make steady academic progress in a calm, focused environment.
Whether your background is in primary or secondary education, what matters most is your ability to build rapport, adapt to individual needs, and deliver engaging lessons in core subjects like English and Maths.
You'll be working independently, but with the full support of our team behind you. Sessions typically take place during the school day and can be as flexible or consistent as you’d like, depending on your availability.
We offer:
Hourly pay of £25–£30, depending on experience and qualifications
A flexible schedule (Monday to Friday, 8am–4pm)
Placements local to you in Stockport and nearby areas
Weekly pay via PAYE (no umbrella fees)
Full support from a dedicated consultant
Optional CPD and training to keep you growing professionally

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
