Site Engineer – Civil Engineering Contractor

Our client, a well-established and highly respected civil engineering main contractor with an annual turnover of £150 million, is looking to recruit a skilled Site Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis. This position offers the chance to work on a diverse portfolio of infrastructure projects across East Lothian.

Role Overview

As Site Engineer, you will play an integral role in the coordination and execution of daily site activities. You will ensure that all operations are carried out in full compliance with Health and Safety regulations, while also providing accurate setting out and surveying support across a range of civil engineering schemes.

Key Responsibilities

Provide precise setting out for construction works
Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations on site
Manage and coordinate site personnel and subcontractors
Maintain Quality Assurance records in line with company standards
Review drawings, plans, and quantities to ensure accuracy
Support the Project Manager and Site Agent with site engineering duties
Liaise effectively with management and clients to ensure smooth project delivery
Essential Requirements

Degree or HNC in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
Proven experience working as a Site Engineer for a civil engineering contractor
Strong background in setting out for groundworks and infrastructure projects
Experience on Scottish Power projects (desirable but not essential)
Valid CSCS card
Full UK driving licence
