Job Description
As an Assembly Fitter, you’ll be responsible for carrying out in-process and final assembly, de-burring, inspection, and testing activities on precision-engineered components to meet customer quality and delivery standards.
Key duties include:
* De-burring and dressing machined components using powered and hand tools.
* Ensuring components are cleaned, finished, and ready for inspection.
* Performing pressure and fluid gravity testing to verify functionality.
* Using inspection equipment such as micrometers, vernier calipers, and surtronics to check components.
* Identifying and reporting non-conforming parts via the company’s NCR system.
* Maintaining accurate documentation and inspection records.
* Supporting continuous improvement and applying 5S principles to maintain an organised workspace.
This Assembly Fitter position is ideal for someone who takes pride in high-quality work and enjoys working within a highly skilled, precision-focused team.
Skills & Experience
To be successful in the Assembly Fitter role, you will need:
* Time-served qualification in a mechanical engineering discipline.
* A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a machine shop or precision engineering environment.
* Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
* Confident use of inspection and testing tools.
* Experience in hydraulic or pneumatic assemblies (advantageous).
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
* A full UK driving licence.
